After being kindly invited, our club took part in the Tournament in Memory of Panagiotis Kontoulis that was organised by the Athletic Association of the Kosteas-Gitonas Schools, presenting Historical Swordsmanship and Pammachon.

The friendly saber tournament was held in the closed gymnasium of the Kosteas-Gitonas Schools in Palene on 17/12/2016 under the aegis of the Hellenic Fencing Federation.

The Historical European Martial Arts presentation took place before the saber finals.

The present athletes, coaches and friends of the sport had the chance to see duels with long swords and Byzantine saber, observing the differences and similarities between a duel fought with these weapons and one using Olympic fencing weapons.

The presentation was carried out by the following members of Leontes: The fencing coach of the Athletic Gymnastic Club AXION  of Piraeus, Mr. George E. Georgas, Mr. George Karanisas and Mr. Angel Pilidis.

A warm thank you to the fencing coach Mr. Nikolaos Psihas and those that helped conduct the presentation of Historical European Martial Arts, and to the audience.

 Merry Christmas to everyone!
