We are in happy condition to announce, that for first time in Greece is going to start a Medieval & Renaissance swordsmanship and Clasical Fencing study group at the North Greece in the city of Xanthi.
The study group is under the sponsorship of the Academy of Historical European Martial Arts (where its headquarters are in Piraeus) and it is member of Meyer FreiFecther Guild.
The group is going to study the following weapons:
A. German Art of Combat (Kunst des Fechten ) : Long sword and rapier
B. Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine) oplomachia: Sword of type ‘spathion’ with small round shield, curved one edged sword (paramerion) with small round shield.
C. Classical Fencing of the French school of fencing : small sword, foil, military saber.
